Stacker vs. EPT
Is a stacker the same as an EPT (Electronic Pallet Truck)? At first glance, a stacker and an EPT look very similar, so the confusion is understandable. However, a stacker is used for moving pallets or goods vertically (stacking), while an EPT can only move goods horizontally. The EPT certificate is often combined with a stacker course because the trucks are similar and complement each other well. Combining training courses within Hollcert happens regularly. What can a stacker do?
Like the EPT, the stacker has forks that lift pallets. However, a stacker can raise goods up and also bring them back down from height. Therefore, a stacker is ideal for use in shelving storage.
Stacker or Reachtruck
Is a stacker comparable to a reachtruck? A reachtruck is indeed also designed for moving materials at height. In some cases, the stacker can be an alternative to the reach truck, but there are many differences. A stacker is operated while walking, and a reach truck is driven. A stacker can be either manual or electric, whereas a reach truck is always electrically powered. Additionally, a reach truck is designed for heavier loads and can lift higher due to its extendable mast. This extendable arm is absent in the stacker.
Stacker Course at Hollcert
The courses at Hollcert are one-day courses in which the trainee can obtain a certificate valid for five years. As many of our trainees are labor migrants who may not be proficient in Dutch, we offer our courses standardly in English, Polish, and Dutch. Other languages are available upon request. The course days are typically divided into a theoretical part, which ends with a theory exam, and a practical part, which concludes with a practical exam.
